Providing outdoor learning opportunities to the local community.

We are a diverse community of east London families brought together by a love of learning and playing in nature.

We run free and subsidised sessions twice per week, and during term breaks in Beckton District Park and local community gardens in Newham.

Our values

Our core values include self-directed education, risk taking play and commitment to being part of our community of families. Our group includes home educating families as well as families with children under five years. We also welcome children who attend school full time to join our holiday sessions. We run our sessions year round and enjoy spending time in nature in all weather conditions.

  • “I enjoyed the activities offered and the incredibly warm group of like minded [families] around. [The sessions] focus on giving the child the opportunity to experience the space without any need to follow a certain structure."

  • "My daughter asks me everyday when she’s going back to forest school! We look forward to future sessions."

  • "Great experience, my daughter is more confident and inquisitive, she was scared before [Forest School]."

    Father, Family Forest School

  • "We love [Forest School]. My child got better at managing turns- the sand timer just clicked this time! We love using the saw and other tools. I liked sharing ideas on what to do when children are angry [in the parent's circle].

  • "Kat is very good at teaching the kids practical skills. We liked the variety of activities and the freedom to do these in a spontaneous way. My daughter enjoyed making bows and arrows, peeling and decorating sticks."

    Valerio, Family Forest School

  • "My children enjoyed creativity & free play. All of the facilitators are knowledgeable and approachable. Elena is amazing, compassionate and friendly. Tasha is fun, friendly and empathetic."

    Hana, Family Forest School

  • "My children enjoyed sawing and hammering. They felt a great sense of achievement. They also liked scavenger hunts- children loved running around spotting things. Thank you so much for everything you do!”
